A woman was waiting for her daughter in the parking lot of Northpark Center when a carjacker walked up and fired shots into her truck. The woman drove to the valet station at Nordstrom's to find help. She is at Baylor University Medical Center and is reportedly in stable condition. Police were still looking for the suspect late Friday.

How does someone in a neon green shirt somehow manage to get away from a mall after shooting someone?

Reverse camouflage. Nobody thinks the guy in a neon green shirt is trying to hide from anybody.

Uhh, I don't think that's the case if eye-witnesses tell the cops to look for a dude in green. Maybe he had an undershirt on and ditched the top layer? Either way, pretty weird he'd go after a F150 at North Park.

Updates over hiyah.

Not sure whether related, but I just returned from lunch at N.P. and noted a LOT of DPD officers prowling about, stationed roughly opposite each entry. One stern-looking female officer was ambling around near La Madeleine the entire time I was munching down on my chicken caesar. Oddly, however, I saw no cops out in the parking lot... 'course, it was broad daylight.

The two dudes in the shoe store where I stopped to buy socks proclaimed, more or less, that "it's about time," and went on to state their opinion that it takes something like this to get the type of security that's been needed all along.

For what it's worth.
