The core purpose of the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History is education: offering exceptional learning experiences in science and history to the diverse population of North Texas, particularly children, their families and educators. The museum, established in 1941, was the very first children's museum in Texas and one of the first children's museums in the nation.

The Omni Theater is located within the museum.
